Reduction meets precision.
The ATUM Power Reserve gives the model family a new face. The power-reserve complication constitutes a prominent accent in the perfectly reduced overall appearance of the timepiece, making it a modern manifestation of pure watchmaking artistry.
The bi-colour bar-shaped display in the dial complements the pure aesthetics and class of the chamfered hour markers and manually sculpted lancet-style hands. This model melds timeless elegance, horological innovation, and the accuracy of Grossmann's 19th-century precision measuring instruments.
The small power-reserve complication was developed to meet the exceptionally stringent requirements imposed on precision measuring instruments such as marine chronometers. This prominent detail of modern manually wound watches identifies them as manifestations of high-end horology.
The balanced face of the ATUM Power Reserve is characterised by its manually sculpted, lancet-shaped hands that move along a crisply drawn minute scale. On the side of the case with the strikingly filigreed bezel, the pusher beneath the crown is the signature element of the Grossmann winder. Thanks to the power-reserve indicator, the delightful experience of operating the unusually smooth handsetting train may become a less frequent one. After all, the progressively red segment automatically prompts the use of the manual winder long before the movement stands still. And incidentally, the bicolour display of the ATUM Power Reserve is a visible hallmark of pure watchmaking artistry.
The bar-shaped aperture with the bicolour power-reserve indicator enriches the perfectly reduced dial of the model family with a distinctive feature of true precision measuring instruments. At the same time, the white/red accent beneath the brand logo reveals that the ATUM Power Reserve is a modern example of horological excellence.
The winding crown and the pusher
The gently curved form and the tapered chamfer of the strap lugs enhances the eloquent silhouette of the case.
Aesthetic and functional – the circumferential groove makes it easy to pull out the crown. The pusher for the new handsetting train is set directly below the winding crown.
Crafted in-house, the hands express a high degree of individuality and contribute to the balanced proportions of the watch. Every Grossmann model family is endowed with a customised hand style that takes artisanal sculpting to the proverbial pinnacle.
For the ATUM Power Reserve, two different manufacture hand designs are matched to the colour of the case. The rose-gold version features three hands that are annealed to a brown hue. For the version in white gold, the hour and minute hands are made of polished stainless steel and the seconds hand is crafted from brown-annealed steel.
A sapphire-crystal glass protects the dial. It has an antireflective coating on one side to prevent viewdisturbing reflections of incident light. The extra-thick slightly cambered glass has a precision-ground chamfer that refracts the geometry of the succinct minute scale.
The butterfly clasp
Centred on the inside of the wrist when worn, the optional available butterfly clasp makes it easy to put on and take off the watch.
